LensBrace Destruction Test
Share
When searching for the best material to build LensBrace from, one option stood high above all the rest.
PA12 nylon made from the “Multi Jet Fusion” process (MJF) by our manufacturing partner BluMak3D met all of our requirements and beyond with absolutely 0 downsides or design compromises.
This extremely durable, yet lightweight material is rust proof, easily capable of holding 10x the weight of an A7 series body and 200–600G lens (and beyond) without failure, and consistently returns to its original shape after repeated flex tests to 80lbs.
We wanted to test LensBrace to the limit and find out what it takes to break one.
As you can see in the attached video, 80Lb tests were no problem.
The base was able to flex to 101Lbs and return to shape.
The second run up to 100 pounds proved to be the breaking point.
But think about what kind of catastrophic event it would take to put 100Lbs of load onto your camera and lens…
